19.45: Arrive Otopeni Airport, Bucharest. We will collect you from the Airport and transfer to Sinaia for hotel and supper.

After a delicious buffet breakfast we will visit the stunning Peles Castle. Then after an hours transfer go to a traditional Cheese farm for a tasting and lunch. We will then drive to the village of Crit where we will stay in a newly renovated traditional village house for the next 2 nights. During our stay we will enjoy Oana’s delicious food made with local ingredients.

After breakfast we have a short transfer to Viscri, a village time forgot. The day will be spent enjoying a tour of the 13th Century White Church a Unesco protected Saxon Fortification, and King Charles’ traditional village house. There will be the option then of a short walk of 5.5km through woodland return down the hillside offering great views of Viscri or enjoy more time to wander around the village and sit in a shady cafe.

After breakfast drive 40 minutes to historic Sighisoara. Our hotel for the next 2 nights is right in the Citadel. We will go on a tour of the citadel finding out about the legends and interesting history. After a lunch of your choice you will the opportunity to sample the cafe culture and wander round then picturesque streets or go on a short countryside walk.

After breakfast we have a 30 minute transfer to the tranquil village of Biertan. Firstly we will have a guided tour of the fortified Black Church and a then a chance to explore the village. There will then be an option to walk over the hillside and through extensive Beech woodland to the sleepy settlement of Copse Mare. Otherwise a minibus transfer is available. We will meet in a village house for delicious homemade soup and bread. Following this will have a felt-making demonstration and insight into village life before returning to Sighisoara for supper and hotel.

Today we head south to stay for our final 2 nights in Brasov. Along the way we will visit the Orthodox Monastery of St Demetrius in a scenic natural area surrounded by dense forests. Then after an hours drive we will explore Rupea Fortress. We continue our journey for another hour to the Medieval town of Brasov. After lunch we will have a guided tour of the Saxon Old Town, visit the Black Church and take the cable car to view the panoramic views. You can either walk down or return the same way.

Today begins with a drive to the Libearty Bear sanctuary which has a superb record of rescuing Brown Bears, Wolves and wild dogs. We will then return to Brasov where you will find a restaurant of your choice for lunch. You can then explore Brasov more independently or go on a 90 minute walk to Solomon’s Rocks.

Transport will be available after breakfast to transfer to Brasov Ghimbav Airport for a 12.20 flight.. Other transport options available with prior arrangment.
