Hope without Limits. Sacale Project. [Romania] Working with disability and extreme poverty

“Hope without Limits” is a Christian Charity that is working with people of disability and those in extreme poverty. I was invited by he charity “Belief in Action” to visit their project while the filming took place. It is an impressive and moving project and following the visit, we agreed to work together in order to develop another farm specifically designed to support their clients into meaningful work and valuable food production.

Our part in this project development is due to start in June 2021

Road Trip with Defenders. Uk to Romania.

Its not every day you get a chance for a father/ son/ mates road trip like this but it had to be done. Having purchased two defenders in the UK we needed them registered in Romania to begin the “Social Enterprise” work. I have to say it was great fun but unfortunately they are now Romania registered and there is no need to repeat the journey…..Must buy another one??

Unceste Rural Farm Project. A 2019 evaluation of impact.

Working with the Charity “People Against Poverty” we launched our first large community project in a small village of Unceste, Eastern Romania. Many Romanian villages are challenging areas to live in, having few work prospects, many absent parents working abroad and alcohol destroying communities.

Costel and his wife Tatiana wanted to transform their village. They started to feed the poor children, build a small community church and then began to plan for a community farm. We went back after three years to evaluate what our partnership had achieved. This project has given us much experience and momentum to work with more communities.

The 100 Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge

This is our main fundraiser for the year and really is what I regard as a great day out. I can’t say that its mostly flat because my wife disagrees and I wouldn’t want to upset her. [But is is mostly………..!] The scenery is hugely varied and very dramatic as you move from the Tarka Trail to the Granite Trail and then to Drakes Trail.

There is always a great team spirit and provided you have a half decent bike and are in reasonable cycling shape it is a day to remember.

This is one of our earlier films that explains how the projects work and the benefits that students can receive from such an experience. Things have over on since then but it retains the essence of what we are about .
